Son Calliu sits on the coast between Palmanova and Portals Nous, about fifteen to twenty minutes from Palma. It is a quiet, established residential area with its own small bay, a short walk from everything Palmanova offers and a few minutes from one of the island's best marinas.
We don't have a property in Son Calliu on our books right now. Tell us what you're looking for and we'll be in touch when the right one comes along.
Son Calliu is a residential area rather than a resort, and that is the whole point of it. It has a small sheltered bay, calm and unhurried, and streets that stay quiet through the summer while the resorts either side of it are busy.
There are a few small bars and restaurants, and a large Mercadona for everything you need day to day. It is not somewhere you go out looking for a night out. It is somewhere you come home to.
That is the trade Son Calliu offers. Palmanova, with its three beaches, its promenade and its restaurants, is about a kilometre away. Puerto Portals, with the superyachts and the designer shops, is a few minutes in the car. Palma is fifteen to twenty minutes.
So you get quiet streets and a private feeling, without being isolated from anything.
Son Calliu is mostly apartments, penthouses and duplexes, with a smaller number of townhouses and villas, generally on the higher ground where the sea views are. That makes it one of the more accessible places to buy on this part of the coast, in an area that holds its value because of where it sits.
Buyers who want calm rather than bustle, but not seclusion. If you like the idea of walking into Palmanova for dinner and then coming back somewhere quiet, this is the compromise that works.
