Illetas

Illetas does not have one long beach. It has a series of small sheltered coves, Platja d'Illetas, Cala Comtessa and Cala Xinxell, with clear shallow water and little rocky islets just offshore. Those islets are where the name comes from, illetes meaning little islands.

The setting is what people buy here. The coast is low cliffs and pine, the water is calm, and the whole stretch feels tucked away despite being minutes from a capital city.

This is the closest of our areas to Palma, and that proximity defines it. You can be in the old town for dinner in ten minutes, at the airport in fifteen to twenty, and at Puerto Portals in around five.

Illetas itself is small. There is a handful of restaurants and bars along the seafront road, a supermarket, and a scattering of four and five star hotels, along with Purobeach, one of the best known beach clubs on the island. For anything more than that, you go to Palma or Portals, and neither is far.

Illetas is an apartment market. Almost everything that comes up for sale here is apartments, penthouses and duplexes, many of them front line with direct sea access and views across the bay, in established seafront complexes. Houses come up rarely and villas almost never.

If you want a villa with land, this is not the address for it, and there are better options further along the coast. If you want a sea view apartment ten minutes from Palma, there are few places on the island that do it better.

Buyers who want the water on their doorstep and the city within easy reach, and who would rather have a quiet address near Palma than a resort with everything on site. It suits people who intend to use Palma as their town, because in practical terms that is what Illetas asks of you.
